'Unearth A Story' at the library as the 2026 Summer Reading Program is here! Starting June 1, people of all ages may participate by signing up and reading 20 minutes a day to earn incentives and prizes all summer long. Your local Peoria Public Library also offers several special summer events that can be enjoyed by the whole family! Those attending the events can even earn additional points! The program runs from June 1 through July 20, so be sure to sign up and 'Unearth A Story' at the library today!

Announcement: The Unearth A Story Summer Reading Program comes to an end on Jul. 20. Please be sure to enter your reading minutes into the Maricopa County Summer Reading website and visit your local Peoria Pubic Library to redeem your prizes until Aug. 20 and while supplies last. The 1,000 point free book must be redeemed by Aug. 1 via the Summer Reading website. Entries for the Library Card Design Contest are also due on Aug. 1, so do not miss out on your chance to win and showcase your work!

From Idea to Object: 3D Printing at the Library

3D Printing at the Library is a hands-on program where young makers learn the basics of 3D printing and digital design using Tinkercad. Participants explore how 3D printers work, discover free model databases, and learn the essential tools needed to begin creating; along with creating a simple project step-by-step, giving teens and adults time to practice building their own models while asking questions and experimenting. All designs created during class will be printed afterward and available for pickup at a later date.

Book to Screen: Film Series

From the pages to the silver screen! Local moviegoers can enjoy five classic films adapted from novels. Every screening begins with a short introduction and wraps up with a post-film discussion led by Jeannie Berg, Film and Media Production faculty member within the Arts & Humanities Department at Glendale Community College.

Join us at our book club for foodies! Once a month, find a recipe in a cookbook that matches our theme, cook it up, and bring it to the group to share! Once you have chosen your dish to bring, contact Adam Poage by email at Adam.Poage@peoriaaz.gov to let him know what recipe you will be bringing so we don’t have a lot of duplication in the dishes we will sample on meeting night. At the meeting, we discuss what we liked/disliked about the cookbooks while we eat.

These half-hour blocks allow one-on-one help with the topic of your choice. When scheduling an appointment, please let the librarian know what your question is and what outcome are you hoping to achieve.

This free program provides caregivers with essential resources to improve care and support young children's development. Master Gardener volunteers will be available to answer your desert gardening questions, including but not limited to plant selection, irrigation, fertilization, pruning techniques, pest management and problem diagnosis. You can bring plant material or insect specimens for ID and advice.

Peoria Public Libraries in partnership with Driving-Tests.org, a company dedicated to driver safety and education, offers free Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) practice tests to library patrons. The service includes free tests specifically based on the state’s DMV materials. It is the only site of its kind to include accessibility tools that let users hear selections read aloud, make them into MP3s, translate pages into other languages, magnify text, and mask portions of the screen for greater visibility on the practice tests.
