IBCCES Certified Autism Centers

The Peoria Main Library and Sunrise Mountain Library are Certified Autism Centers™ (CAC), which statuses are granted by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). With 1 in 44 children diagnosed with autism in the US (according to the CDC) and a growing number of adults receiving autism diagnosis later in life, the training and certification of our staff earned greatly helps us to better assist and communicate with autistic and sensory-sensitive individuals during their visits to our facilities. Pip, The Peoria Public Library Roadrunner

The Peoria Public Library system is proud to present our mascot - Pip The Roadrunner! Introduced at the 2024 Fall Fest at the Peoria Main Library, Pip is excited to promote the importance of literacy and share his life-long love of reading with everyone. He is also excited about showing all the amazing resources available at the Peoria Public Libraries to anyone he comes across!
