Library Overview

Established in 1920, the Peoria Public Library system is focused on serving our communities to the best of our abilities. We promote early literacy, education, entertainment, entrepreneurship and community engagement via the materials and programming freely available to all members of our library. The Peoria Public Library is owned and operated by the City of Peoria, AZ.

IBCCES Certified Autism Centers

The Peoria Main Library and Sunrise Mountain Library are Certified Autism Centers™ (CAC), which statuses are granted by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). With 1 in 44 children diagnosed with autism in the US (according to the CDC) and a growing number of adults receiving autism diagnosis later in life, the training and certification of our staff earned greatly helps us to better assist and communicate with autistic and sensory-sensitive individuals during their visits to our facilities. Pip, The Peoria Public Library Roadrunner

The Peoria Public Library system is proud to present our mascot - Pip The Roadrunner! Introduced at the 2024 Fall Fest at the Peoria Main Library, Pip is excited to promote the importance of literacy and share his life-long love of reading with everyone. He is also excited about showing all the amazing resources available at the Peoria Public Libraries to anyone he comes across!
