History:
Peoria Public Library was established in 1920 by the Senior Woman's Club and housed in their clubhouse located at 83rd Ave. and Washington in Washington Park. The first books were obtained by having a "book shower". The Population of Peoria was 200. Maricopa County Free Library also began giving the library books. The library was moved to the Peoria City Complex located at Peoria Ave. and 83rd Dr. in 1975. The library was moved to a storefront at 75th Ave. and Cactus in 1990. In 1993 the library relocated to its current building on the campus of the City of Peoria's Municipal Complex.

Location:
The Main Library is located on 85th Ave. 4 blocks south of Peoria Ave. and 4 blocks north of Olive Ave. Parking is available in front of the City Council Chambers, and in the parking structure south of the Library at 85th Ave. and Cinnebar. Handicapped parking is available on the west side of the Library.

Book drops are located by the Library parking lot and at the Library Entrance.
