Join our Winter Reading Program this holiday season! Receive a prize for signing up, then read at least 20 minutes a day for 20 days, marking off each day on your reading log. Turn in the completed log to your local Peoria Public Library for a finisher prize between Dec. 6 - Jan. 3, with all logs due by Jan. 10. Reading logs may be picked up at your local Peoria Public Library starting Nov. 17. The program is open to all ages.

Lego creators, ages, 6-17, arechallenged this winter to create a Mosaic Marvel this season! Create a 2-D Mosaic Image that can be displayed upright on a 12x12 Baseplate for a chance to win a Lego Kit of your choice! Registration forms are available at the youth/reference desk or can be downloaded below.

Does your child need help reading? Book Buddies is a program where we pair your child with a teen volunteer to help gain confidence while reading aloud. This program is suited for students in grades K-5.

• 3rd quarter sessions will be held on Wednesdays, Feb. 11 - Mar. 11, from 4 p.m. - 5 p.m.

America is turning 250 years old this year! Celebrate by taking a step back in time to the American Frontier.  Learn more about the history of America, and the Pioneers of Peoria with hands-on activities. From Betsy Ross Sewing and Navajo Weaving crafts, to making Wanted Posters in the Jail House, to playing old-time Carnival games in the Courtyard there is something for everyone!  Enjoy a Ballet Folklorico performance at 10:30 AM - seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.  

This program is supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Learners will build a basic electronic circuit and be introduce to the usage of Tinkercad. For kids grades 4 - 8. Registration is required as is a parental consent form.

Brain Powers partners with libraries and community organizations to provide introduction to fun after-school social activities for students that develop/reinforce critical thinking, problem solving, depth of thought, situational awareness, & a range of other concepts, in order to achieve the best results when problem solving using applied tactics & techniques. Using in-person strategy/puzzle games, students learn through play. Our experienced & entertaining Instructors guide student learning through challenges for lifelong intellectual benefits! Parents/guardians, looking for something for the kids to do after school in a nonjudgmental space? Families are invited to join us for various fun and interactive activities every Monday and Thursday starting at 3:30 p.m. All kinds of crafts, STEAM challenges, games, and activities will foster these students' creativity, exploration, and team working skills. All are welcome to these programs, including families with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other sensory needs. Activities will vary from session to session. PAWS 2 Read is an on-going program which allows children to read aloud to therapy dogs in order to improve reading skills. When children practice reading individually to trained therapy dogs (and their handlers) they become more confident readers, while having fun! After all, a dog will not correct them or make them feel awkward if they stumble.
