It's the return of Library Con! On April 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Peoria Main Library will be celebrating all things fun and geeky with family crafts, a cosplay competition, trivia, tabletop gaming, VR experiences... and so much more! Whether you love Star Wars, K-Pop, or Dungeons & Dragons, there will be something for every fan in your family.
Schedule of Events:
- 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. - Trivia Competition.
- 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - Cosplay Contest.
- 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Retro Games Free Play.
- 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. - Lightsaber Combat Performance by Syndicate Saber United.
- 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. - Random Dance Party hosted by Arizona K-Pop Dance Crew.

In-N-Out Burger’s “Cover to Cover” Reading Program
Library: Peoria Main & Sunrise Mountain Libraries
Date: Saturday, Mar. 2 - Saturday, Apr. 13
In-N-Out Burger’s “Cover to Cover” reading program always starts the first Saturday in March and runs for six weeks. Children ages 4 to 12-years-old may earn a good-for-one hamburger or cheeseburger Achievement Award card by reading five books or reading for 300 minutes. If a child is unable to read on their own, a parent or guardian may read to them. Each child may earn up to a maximum of three cards during the program, and cards are redeemable at all In-N-Out Burger locations. Reading Logs will be available at your local Peoria Public Library starting Mar. 2. Completed logs will be due back at the Library by Saturday, Apr. 13.

Peoria Public Library Poetry Writing Contest

Campfire Singalong

National Library Week is April 7 -13, so Peoria Main Library is celebrating with a special Campfire Singalong during our Teddy Bear Storytime. Mr. Zac will be joined by Ms. Kathy (of Toddler Time fame) on Guitar and her husband Mr. Ron on Banjo. Gather on our outdoor patio to sing songs around a pretend campfire, make a campfire craft, and eat a s’mores snack mix.
*Please note this special storytime is in place of Teddy Bear Storytime.

Arizona Broadway Theatre presents: Flight School: The Musical

Arizona Broadway Theatre presents 'Flight School' at your local Peoria Public Library! It’s the first day of Flight School, where they teach birds to fly. Penguin has the soul of an eagle and is ready to live on the wind. But he wasn’t built to soar, as the other birds constantly remind him. Penguin’s spirit won’t be grounded. With some friends of a feather, and a little help on the technical parts, Penguin follows his dreams to flip, flap, fly! After the performances, stay for a meet-and-greet / Q & A time with the cast after the show.

Storytime in the Garden

The Peoria Main Library and Department of Neighborhood and Human Services are teaming up to bring you a special outdoors storytime! Family Storytime is relocating just down the street to the Peoria Community Garden at 83rd Ave. and Madison Street (near the Axiom playground). Listen to stories and sing songs with Miss Jenni and afterwards enjoy a craft, snack, and learn how to plant seeds with Master Gardener Tony.

Rocks and Minerals

The University of Arizona's School of Mining and Mineral Resources presents "Rocks and Minerals, Properties and Uses". Students will learn how to identify minerals, or practice using the skills they already have, with a set of minerals commonly used as ore minerals for the metals and materials we use to build the world around us. This presentation is geared for kids in grades 4 - 12.

Maricopa County Flood Safety Program

The Flood Control District of Maricopa County offers this free STEM classroom presentation on Flood Safety at the Peoria Public Libraries. This program will help students understand weather, monsoon storms, and the dangers of flooding specific to Maricopa County, complete with a diorama.
